CAPITOL'S MERCER TARGETED
IN TULSA STOCK SCANDAL
JUNE 18, 2003 (Tulsa, OK)
- Capitol Records Recording Artist Roy D Mercer has been implicated
as the mastermind of the biggest stock scandal to rock Tulsa, Oklahoma
in recorded history. The Tulsa Bureau of Investigation has
launched a probe into Mercer, and he's not happy about it.
Unconfirmed sources say that Mercer, who's latest CD, Roy D Mercer
Hits the Road, was released last week, has played a dominant
role in the most bizarre misuse of stock since Natalie
Maines’ family allegedly started buying up shares of Haagen
Dazs.
"I
done it, but I swear they told me it was legal," Mercer
says of the accusation, "I ain't never done nothin' to no cow
that my step-daughter Lateesha wouldn’t a done to her Barbie
dolls. Let ' em come after me. I'll be all over those
TBI agents like Garth Brooks on a Maverick's ex-wife."
According
to Harold Balzak, President of the Tulsa Livestock Board and a Mercer
friend, the entire incident should curdle quickly. "Roy
D Mercer has been a friend of mine for over 20 years." states
Balzak. "If he wants to dress his cows up in women's
clothing and take pictures of them, well I guess that's his business.
Live and let live, I say. Besides, I think some of the cows
actually give more milk when they're dressed in a tutu or a nice
sun dress."
Mercer,
who has sold over 3 million copies of his 8 tracks, cassettes, and
CDs on Capitol Records, says he only wants his private life to be
left private, like Michael Jackson's, and he urges his fans to buy
copies of his new CD, Roy D Mercer Hits the Road to help him offset his legal fees to defend himself against
this bizarre and completely fabricated witch hunt.
Smoke
'em if ya got 'em, Willie.
