PANELISTS FOR 2004 MASTER CLASS with RENEE GRANT-WILLIAMS: Managers,
Attorneys, Booking Agents, and Producers…
Who Needs ‘Em?! (and why?)
March 11, 2004 (NASHVILLE, TN) – Renee Grant-Williams,
world renowned voice coach whose client roster includes Faith
Hill, Tim McGraw, Christina Aguilera, Dixie Chicks, Keith Urban,
Kenny Chesney, Rachel Lampa, and many more, has announced the
names of the music industry professionals that will participate
in the evening showcase portion of her 6th annual intensive all-day
master class as performance evaluation panelists on April 17th
2004. The instructional seminar will take place at the AmSouth
Bank Business Center in downtown Nashville, Tennessee, with the
performance showcase following at nearby Wolfy’s Den from
7:00 pm to 11:30 pm.
The performance evaluation panelists will include Butch Baker
(HoriPro Entertainment/ Curb Records A&R consultant), Kirk
Boyer (A&R Director, Lyric Street Records), Jim Catino (A&R
Director, RCA Label Group), Danny Kee (A&R Director, Warner
Bros. Records), Autumn House (A&R Director, Capitol Records),
and Tammy Ragusa (Marketing Manager, Capitol Records). The panelists
will attend the performance showcase and critique the performances
of each participant, evaluating their performance in several categories.
Each singer will be given a copy of their evaluation to keep.
The instructional portion of the master class will be held from
9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the AmSouth Center. This year’s
attendees will not only gain valuable technical training and hands-on
instruction from Grant-Williams, whose techniques are applied
by countless singing stars, but they will also participate in
a panel discussion of music industry executives who will address
the various roles of managers, attorneys, booking agents, and
producers in the career of an entertainer. Panelists for the daytime
discussion will be announced soon.
Renee Grant-Williams, a graduate of the San Francisco Conservatory
of Music, has appeared on numerous broadcast outlets including
ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, Bravo, Bloomberg, MTV, BBC, NPR, and has been
quoted by and written for numerous print publications. Her teaching
experience includes tenures at her alma mater, as well as at the
University of California, Berkeley, where she served as the Director
of the Division of Vocal Music.
Grant-Williams, whose clients were nominated for an amazing 7
Grammy Awards at this year’s event, currently teaches at
her studio in Nashville, and also conducts an on-line course for
The Barnes & Noble University. She authored Voice Power (AMACOM
Books, NY), currently available wherever books are sold, and has
recently released a 3-part instructional DVD and other products
