MASTER
CLASS with RENEE GRANT-WILLIAMS:
Managers,
Attorneys, Booking Agents, and Producers…
Who
Needs ‘Em?! (and why?)
January
16, 2004 (NASHVILLE, TN) – Renee Grant-Williams,
world renowned voice coach whose client roster includes Faith
Hill, Tim McGraw, Christina Aguilera, Dixie Chicks, Randy Travis,
Linda Ronstadt, Rachel Lampa, and
many more, has set April 17th 2004 as
the date for her 6th annual intensive all-day master class. The
seminar will once again take place at the AmSouth Bank Business
Center in downtown Nashville, Tennessee, followed
by an evening performance showcase for registrants at nearby Wolfy’s
Den.
The instructional portion of the master class will be held
from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
at the AmSouth Center. This year’s attendees will not
only gain valuable technical training and hands-on instruction from
Grant-Williams, whose techniques are applied by countless singing
stars, but they will also participate in a panel discussion of music
industry executives who will address the various roles of managers,
attorneys, booking agents, and producers in the career of an entertainer.
“It takes only one person to sing, but it takes a
team to build a career,”
Grant-Williams cautions. “To be successful you must
have a good understanding of the role each member plays, when to
bring them on board, and what to expect from the relationship. You
will have to live a long time with the decisions you make early
in your career.”
The day’s events will be capped off by a performance
showcase where attendees will have an opportunity to apply their
newly-acquired skills and receive a written critique from a second
panel of music industry experts that in the past has included executives
from Capitol Records, Warner Bros. Records, Sony Records, and major
label recording artists. The performance showcase will take
place from 7:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. at Wolfy’s Den.
“What
you get in a group situation like this that you don’t get
in a private session is the opportunity to see how the application
of these techniques improves the singing of the other participants,” says Grant-Williams. “It
adds another dimension to the learning experience.”
Grant-Williams, who is in constant demand by major record
labels and entertainers, has created a unique, activity-packed seminar
that has proven to be invaluable not only to singers, but has also
benefited public speakers, record producers, audio engineers, and
others interested in honing their vocal abilities. Past attendees
of the Master Class include Tommy Shane Steiner,
Brad Mates of Emerson Drive, Epic recording artist Mandy Barnett,
Sony Records artist Christy Sutherland,
Jive Records
artist Nikki Cleary, and
2002 Colgate Country Showdown winner
Ashley Thompson.
