January 12, 2004 (PARK CITY, UT) ? Capitol Records recording
artist and self-proclaimed "King of Country Western Troubadours" Unknown Hinson
is scheduled to perform at the 2004 Sundance Film Festival
in Park City, Utah this Sunday, January 18th at festival hot spot Plan B. Hinson will share the bill
with Gob Roberts, the band fronted by actor Tim Robbins.
Hinson,
who recently toured with Reverend Horton Heat and Hank Williams
III, has been shocking
fans with his live "psychobilly" shows for nearly
a decade. His enigmatic persona,
vampire-like appearance and screaming guitar work not only landed him a deal on Capitol Records, but also a film and television
development deal with DownHome Entertainment.
The
Sundance Film Festival is universally regarded as the foremost
showcase for American independent films.
The Festival culminates in
the live broadcast of the Sundance Film Festival Awards,
where kudos for excellence are bestowed by a jury and by audience vote. Past festivals have included
films that have literally charted the history of independent cinema: sex,
lies and videotape, Reservoir Dogs, Hoop Dreams, Memento, The Full Monty,
Shine, The Blair Witch Project, and many more.
Hinson's first full-length album entitled The Future
Is Unknown, fueled by songs like "I Ain't Afraid
of Your Husband," "Hippie Girl," "Lingerie,"
and "I Make Faces When I Make
Love," will be released in the spring of 2004.
