COUNTRY STAR U ANNOUNCES DETAILS OF GRAND PRIZE PACKAGE
SEPTEMBER 14, 2006 (NASHVILLE) – Country Star University, an intensive 2-day seminar for aspiring country artists with panelists including Lonestar’s Dean Sams, Steve Wariner, Bryan White, and execs from GAC, Capitol, Universal Music Group Nashville, RLG Nashville, Sony/ATV and many others, has announced details of the prize package to be given away during the CSU Live! portion of this year’s event, scheduled for October 9th and 10th.
Sponsors including Shure Microphones and Guitar Center have contributed items including a Fender Telecaster, a Boss BR 600 digital Recorder, and several microphones and in-ear monitors totaling over $2,600 worth of gear, to be awarded to the winner of the attendee-voted competition to be held during the evening portion of Country Star U to be held at Douglas Corner Café on Monday, October 9th.
Attendees will have an opportunity to perform acapella in small groups and be rated by their peers during the daytime portion of the seminar, to be held at Warner Bros. Records. Those that receive the highest marks from their peers will perform later that evening and be rated by all attendees, where the winner will be awarded the prize package.
“CSU is not designed to be a talent search,” says Co-Founder Jeff Lysyczyn. “Our goal is to educate aspiring artists about how Music Row operates, and to provide our attendees with the knowledge that will help them chart their course toward becoming successful recording artists, live entertainers, and songwriters. The contest portion of the event creates a unique and fun way for our attendees to show off their chops and gather valuable feedback from their peers. Thanks to Shure and Guitar Center, one talented artist will leave the event with some great tools for putting the knowledge he or she gains at CSU into action.”
Country Star University, now in its second year, is an event designed to educate aspiring country artists about what it really takes to make it as a successful country artist. Previous attendees have come from as far as Sweden to attend the event, and the inaugural seminar was an overwhelming success.
Tickets for Country Star U 2006 are $499 and are on sale now at www.CountryStarU.com or by calling (615) 340-0882. Space is limited and registration is filling up fast for the event.
